CHARACTER
Name: Notas
Canon/OC: OC
Journal:
fistcrashRace: Qunari/Tal-Vashoth
Nationality: Seheron
Occupation: Gladiator
Division: Forces
Mage or Not: No.
Age: 27
History- Originally one of the Qunari. She had a knack for hitting things, but ultimately was made into a tactician instead of an outright soldier. For awhile, she served in Seheron.
- Gradually, she became frustrated and angrier under the Qunari, disliking how much control was established over her and others. Quietly, others whispered about leaving their post and becoming Tal-Vashoth. She decided to join them because down with The Man.
- While abandoning their post in Seheron, they were ambushed by Tevinter soldiers.
- For a time, they were interrogated thoroughly. Not all of the other Tal-Vashoth survived the interrogations. Gradually, after determining that they received all the information that they could, the remaining living Tal-Vashoth were bartered off into servitude. She ended up with a magister named Tiberius.
- She did not bend to servitude like the others. She fought, more furious than ever, unwilling to bend her knee to Tevinter. The one who claimed to own her decided to pit her against fighters as his personal gladiator.
- Eventually, she was nicknamed
Notas for her ability to fight with her hands.
- After spending a few years as a gladiator, Tiberius began to cooperate with the Ventori and eventually became one of them. He had Notas brought along with him for the occasional fighting entertainment.
- It's here that I'd like to see about introducing Notas through a small event so she can be recruited. If it was acceptable, I could run it so that while a team of Inquisitor agents are investigating and/or stopping the Venatori camp, Notas can break out and start spreading mayhem as she starts killing the Venatori in a blind rage. At the end of it, it wouldn't be hard to recruit her with the promise of getting to kill and punch more of them.
PersonalityHonestly, if we could just summarize everything for Notas into one word, it's literally just
anger. The Qun might have been able to tame Notas if she had stayed, but her young rebellious nature was there just long enough that she escaped before she could stay complacent. Since then, her fury has only been since flamed further as she was enslaved as a gladiator by the Venatori, and often she questions herself if her choice to abandon the Qun was actually the
right one to go with.
Deep within, she feels shame and self-loathing as well. Never truly knowing freedom, she has begun to feel that her decisions have brought about a cruel price and that perhaps she was not meant to be a free woman. Though technically Tal-Vashoth, at the end of her angry stampede for Venatori heads, she has toyed with the idea of returning to the Qun, that perhaps it can set her right after all. She doesn't know what to do with herself, and may even wonder if being part of the Inquisition is just another set of chains.
Due to her upbringing and unfortunate enslavement, Notas very obviously lacks any sense of humor and social ques. She is a very literal person, and will become easily frustrated if someone plays around and is not up front in what they're trying to say. If someone is attempting to tell a joke, she may even assume the worst and feel they are trying to mock her, which will only annoy her in the end. If one were to attempt to gain her approval, she would be more easily tamed by simple kindness -- something that she may not immediately comprehend, but would quickly come to appreciate it. To know that there is actually softness in the world is not something she has been able to see for herself yet.
At the end of the day, though, she can easily comprehend her role: can it be punched, and should it be punched.
Opinions & AffiliationsMAGES: BAD. REALLY BAD. CHAIN THEM.
